Have You Found Your Faith?

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin at 6:59 am on Saturday, February 28, 2009

Do you have enough faith in God to help you cope with the troubles of our time?

Are you a good and worthwhile person who is entitled to find God’s grace?

When was the last time you prayed to God for the peace of mind to make you feel secure?

Today we are bombarded by natural disasters and acts of terrorism. How can we hope to cope with the insecurity of our time if we don’t have faith in God and in His goodness and mercy?

I’m not talking about the faith that we salve ourselves with by going to a Church or Mosque or Temple. I am talking about the true feelings of your heart and mind.

Are you really a person of faith?

Do you practice what is preached to you?

Are you kind and caring to other people?

Do you truly love your fellow man?

Are you willing to accept your neighbors right to believe in God in his or her own way?

It is only by answering these questions positively that we can hope to become people of faith.

It is only by trusting in God and trying to be kind and caring that we can hope to find and nourish our faith.

When we begin to have faith in God we will start to find the peace of mind we strive for. We will begin to feel the state of bliss that a true Person of Faith has. We will begin to learn how to cope with the troubles of the time we live in. We will begin to feel secure.

Are you ready to find your faith and feel wonderful?

Are you ready to have faith in God?

Hurry, God may be waiting to hear from you.

Selecting a Glass Truck Rack: What You Must Learn about Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel &Amp; Aluminum Glass Truck Racks

Filed under: Business Opps, Cars + Rides, Drugs — admin at 6:40 am on Saturday, February 28, 2009

Purchasing a glass rack and glass truck is different than purchasing a different piece of glass working tools. As the glass manufacturing industry advances, the handling tools that makes it possible, has as well.

The effective, controlled delivery and shipping of glass sheets and its many jobs, created the numerous types of glass transportation racks designs to fulfill demand.

Due to the sheer volume of products available, an informed study of your businesses unique requirements is your first step to acquiring a glass transportation rack. But its easy to get a universal glass truck and rack from most glass handling companies, for no or little additional cost you get a fully-customized glass rack designed to your specific needs.

Coming up with a few requirements in a few characteristics should help you select the combination of body and chassis that will optimize your investment.

Remember that bodies usually outlast 2 or 3 chassis. Thinking that far in advance demands a bit of work due to the unfortunate fact that the rack truck body can only work with a specific chassis type design. The chassis type will also determine major considerations of the body design including payload, ledge width and rack size.

Meanwhile, glass racks are now available in 3 base materials: stainless steel, aluminum and carbon steel. All of these brings its own positives and flaws.

Carbon Steel is the most affordable material, but it will probably result in high maintenance expenditure to keep it shiny and in good shape, which can be a challenge in corrosiveweather conditions.

Aluminum racks are popular for their lightweight characteristics. When fully painted or anodized, it will stay in great shape for years without minimum maintenance. Glass racks made from aluminum cost quite a bit more to repair and is more costly all-around than steel.

Stainless Steel is an excellent material choice for buyers thinking about durability and anti-corrosive materials. Should the steel be measured properly, steel can prove a years of low upkeep and reliable service. Due to a stainless steel glass racks corrosion proof quality, etching the exposed steel for painting is hard, and thus the glass rack bodies are not painted. An exposed steel appearance is the steel glass racks best appearance. Steel is great and its only negative so far is its expensive investment price tag.

Grace

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin at 1:11 am on Friday, February 27, 2009

Grace.
What is Grace?

(1.) Of form or person.

(2.) Favor, kindness, friendship.

(3.) God’s forgiving mercy.

(4.) The gospel as distinguished from the law.

(5.) Gifts freely bestowed by God; as miracles, prophecy, tongues.

(6.) Christian virtues.
(7.) The glory hereafter to be revealed.

For the Believer in Christ, Grace is the most important substance he can posses. Why? For by Grace thru Faith are ye saved. Grace is the first gift that God delivers to the new convert to Christianity. With out grace we would all be lost. We all as Christians have problems in this life some more than others. Some Christians will go thru this life with no hindrances, sicknesses, illnesses, nor persecutions, Why? For each have been given a measure of Faith, some have High Faith some have medium faith and others have Low Faith. The more you receive the more is expected of you in return. In contrast, the less you receive the less is expected. Let put it in these words. A Person of low Faith [The Weak Christian] will be protected by God for his lack of understanding and strength and the ones that have the higher Faith, these are mostly, but not entirely, the ministers of the Word of God are allowed to be tested on their Faith.
The Apostle Paul stated; Act 20:24, “But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
Of “the grace of God”, Favor, kindness, friendship, forgiveness, & mercy. “But none of these things move me.” Fire, Flood, Earthquake, Hunger, all these things test the weak and the strong in Christ, persecutions are the most felt hardship in the world today. By the Grace of God is sufficient for all of us to Stand. I see four distinct periods of time for the Christian and the Church and four distinct periods for the Church, according to Grace and Faith.

1. The beginning Church after Jesus returned to the Father, the time of the Apostles and Deciples. At this period of time there was great persecution of the Church by the Jews and Romans.

2. A development time for the growing Church, where little is known, the separation of the Catholic Church and the Prodistent Church. A breaking away from all hindrances to seek out the truth in the Word of God by all men and not Just a Few,

3.The Peaceful Church, these are the times that we have lived in, where grace abounded and revival came to men. Where you could see Baptisms every where, people being saved and Faith flourished.

4. The end time Church. This is the time we live in now. Persecution, Deception, Controversy, Lies, False Religions, False Christ, False Prophecy and the devision of the Churches. Every body wants a different name and doctrine. This was not in the instructions from Jesus. “Be Ye One!”
Rom 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: “Being justified freely by his grace!” Justified; In theology it means, remission of sin and absolution from guilt and punishment; or an act of free grace by which God pardons the sinner and accepts him as righteous, on account of the atonement of Christ. Romans, 3:24, Would be enough for many, but not to all. God justified us unto Salvation thru the sacrifice of His Son, in whom we believe, for many around the world, just being saved is not enough. We strive to give, to all, the grace that God had showed to us, to the salvation to them. What am I saying? Many a Christian are being persecuted and tested each and every day. So we endure hardships galore, to the testimony of the Grace that God gives to each and everyone that will believe. 1Peter 4:16, “Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.” [Note; The word, “Christian” is only mentioned twice in scripture.]

Romans 5:2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. “we have access by faith” This is access to Grace or the, Favor, kindness, friendship of God that will sustain us in all perils that we endure. Grace is a substance, just as Faith is, that we possess. 1Co 10:30 For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?
Paul was stating,”Why am I called evil when I have the friendship, kindness and Favor of God?” “When Gods Grace means all these things to the believer?” The answer again is in scripture. Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:10-12, “Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.” The grace that you have or will receive from God, does not mean that you will never suffer as a Christian, it only means that He will sustain you thru these troubling times. You may not have all that you want, but His grace, or Favor, will give you all you NEED.

Be content with having no shoes, for there are those with no feet, be content with no home, for there are those with no hope, be content with a piece of bread for there are those who have no food, be content with your clothes for there are those that are naked, be content with your sight for there are those that have no eyes, see what I mean by Grace? I am what I am by the Grace of God. Remember what I had said earlier? “The more you receive the more is expected of you in return. In contrast, the less you receive the less is expected. Let put it in these words. A Person of low Faith [The Weak Christian] will be protected by God for his lack of understanding and strength and the ones that have the higher Faith, these are mostly, but not entirely, the ministers of the Word of God are allowed to be tested on their Faith.”

Paul put it this way in 1Co 15:10; “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” We must be content with who we are and the situation that we are placed in, for the Grace of God will sustain us. Not putting your trust in man but in Gods Grace.

Amy Grant Cashes in Once Again on Jesus’ Coat-Tails

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin at 9:45 am on Thursday, February 26, 2009

Jesus made her famous, now Amy Grant cashes in one more time.

In case you hadn’t heard, singer Amy Grant is hosting a new “reality TV” series for NBC called “Three Wishes.” It’s slated to air beginning September 23. In the show Amy travels to a town and finds people wanting a wish fulfilledthink Pseudo-Christian Pop Star meets Aladdin’s Magic Lamp.

I’m sure she is getting a nice paycheck for her hosting duties.

Why am I so tough on lil ‘ol Amy?

She has become the typical “Christian” celebrity…she can divorce her husband of 16 years, decide (despite Biblical prohibition*) to remarry Vince Gill, parlay her Christian notoriety into a lucrative endorsement deal with Target, decided to “cross over” from singing about Jesus to singing about “whatever”.

In an interview with Christianity Today**, Grant talks of her detractors:

“Some day, this is all going to play out in heaven, and everybody will see the full picture, and it won’t even matter.”

While I agree that it will all be sorted out in heaven, I suspect that a healthy respect for Jesus and morality here probably will pay off there too. Maybe Amy sees Jesus as her “big buddy” who just overlooks all our willfulness.

Plastic Dashboard Jesus.

Amy and Vince, it’s time to repent. Surely someone will quote the adage: “You can’t unscramble scrambled eggs.” True, but you can repent and return to celibacy. Isn’t it time a famous Christian actually took responsibility for their hedonism?

I won’t be holding my breath.

Popping the Balloon of Belief

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin at 5:14 am on Thursday, February 26, 2009

I’m really excited. I just got a bigger soapbox, and I wanted to invite the rest of you to get up here on it with me.

You may remember I was recently talking about how beliefs are at the core of our conflicts, yet those beliefs are built upon less-than-complete information. What is known is not all there is - there’s always something more. Yet we try to explain what we think we know by constructing complex belief systems around them, and fight to defend them against those who believe another way. Our egos are so fragile that we’d rather fight than consider that the foundations of our thought and society might be built upon shifting sands.

Maybe this seems farfetched. But let’s look at the Middle East. The interplay of beliefs give us a prime example.

One set involves religion, where ideological descendants of a common ancestor have fought for centuries under the guise of righting a perceived assault upon their God. Each fights to eradicate the other side, and hopefully the differing beliefs they hold. Superimpose upon this age-old fight an internal Muslim war between sects, along with a regional struggle between clerics and secularists, and the complexities grow immense. But that’s far from all.

Let’s also not forget that most in the area live deprived of what many believe are basic human rights, often repressed by brutal regimes that crush dissent to maintain power and the status quo. All this while their citizens are awakening to an inner call to explore their own potential, fueled by worldwide communications that show what others already enjoy. Many are crying out to end this. Some even resort to terrorism, further complicating the mix.

Now add in geopolitical struggles for money and power which are impacted by the area’s crucial location over large deposits of oil. This lifeblood fuels mankind’s technological march into the future, and allows us to enjoy a standard of living not even dreamed of in centuries past. Instability of any kind triggers fears our way of life may be impaired or lost altogether.

Whew, it makes me dizzy just thinking about it.

We’ve given the existing institutions of government and religion a chance, and look what they’ve done with it. They’ve showed us the answer is not in diplomacy. And it certainly isn’t in war. Or in greater religious fervor. Or in any of the tools at their disposal.

So let me suggest another way. What if everyone asked themselves, “Why do we believe this stuff anyway?” It couldn’t hurt to just consider the possibilities.

What if people found a way to connect to God and find meaning without religions that inherently pitted them against each other, whether intended or not? Not to replace one religion with another, but to find an inner spirituality that didn’t need the institutions or structure? Where we all knew and felt connected to our source, so that all religions could go quietly into the night?

What if people accepted that others who were different could live among them, and that this diversity both honored and accentuated the best characteristics of each? And that diversity was accepted as a gift to better know themselves, rather than an irritant to be tolerated?

What if there were no struggles to govern among groups or sects because each truly enjoyed the ability to be itself without having to worry about either defending its differences or imposing them on others?

What if governments were not run by either despots or leaders that curried popular favor by castigating opponents and fomenting social discord? Rather, their peoples were guided by an inner force (not an outer one inflamed by religion or politics) that allowed them, and their leaders, to find the seeds of peace within every conflict?

What if people everywhere knew and trusted that their needs would be met as they arose, and that they could explore meaningful pursuits without bumping up against the efforts of others?

This may be a dream, but it is certainly one that is within our reach. You know it as well as I do. But to make it happen, we each have to first hold out a vision of what can be. And then to commit ourselves to make it happen.

Sure, there will be many objections and roadblocks. Religious institutions and governments will fight hard against it. Fear will bring resistance and maybe even greater strife in the short run. Patience and persistent effort will be needed to see it through. But who says the best things come easy?

Isn’t it time we stopped leaving the evolution of humanity up to chance, or at least quit pretending it’s out of our hands? We’re at a point now where people worldwide can share ideas and visions. So why not work toward those that go beyond predatory commerce, politics, and religion? Why not believe that which serves us and our ideals, and promotes the common good, rather than sows the seeds of conflict and destruction?

If this is a world where people go to war over beliefs, isn’t belief there’s a better way worth fighting for? I sure think so. What about you?

A Heavenly Vision

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin at 9:46 am on Wednesday, February 25, 2009

I would like to share a spiritual experience with you that not only was very personal to me, but I believe it has value to every person’s life. I would pray that the precious Holy Spirit would touch you, and show you how it may apply to your life as well.

This occured in a devastating moment of my life. My husband was into some really terrible things that had destroyed our marriage, and we had just told our two children that we were getting a divorce. If you have been through this experience, you’ll relate to the place and pain I was in.

After the kids had been settled and got busy, I had time alone in my room. I was praying and crying, and I felt Jesus’s hand on my head, stroking my hair and comforting me.

Soon, I literally saw a vision of heaven, at first it was the Lord and I walking through beautiful green fields, then I saw a lion eating grass. I love animals and this hit me as being profoundly strange. Soon a lamb went up to the lion and they began playing together. I knew then what I was seeing wasn’t earthly, but heavenly.

We then approached a city, where there was a lot of activity, but I wasn’t shown what they were doing, (heaven isn’t boring!) they moved in love and with a sense of purpose, but it was a joyful, light thing. Not a stressed out busyness that’s common to us. I saw some people dressed in white robes, but were rather plain, I then saw others also in white robes, but they were magnificent, obviously held in high regard and honor.

I questioned the Lord about the differences between the two groups of people. He then showed me the plain, first group and what their lives on earth were like, they had sorrow, pain and hardship, and they worked VERY hard at fixing their lives. The Lord asked me what I saw. “I see people in pain working so desperately to fix their lives”. Exactly He said.

Then He showed me the second group of people, the dazzling group, and their lives on earth also, and I saw the same circumstances in their lives (some worse in fact), pain, suffering and hardship, but I saw them down on their knees crying out to God for help. They gave their lives over to Him, placing their circumstances in His hands and trusting Him to move for them.

He then showed me their “after” appearance and then asked me what I saw. “Wow, I see God in their lives.” Exactly He said. He showed me both groups were equally loved, both groups were equally in hardship, but the difference it made in eternity was HOW we responded here on earth to those hardships.

He then told me, “I’m going to introduce you to My Father, you need Him now.” At that moment I tried to tell Him no, because all of the sudden I felt great fear.

I had NO idea I had a fear of facing The Heavenly Father, until it was presented to me. But it all unveiled so quickly, I really didn’t have much time to protest. Jesus sat down at the Father’s side, and it was like a veil or curtain was pulled aside, and there I was, face to face with The Father!

You know how when you are shocked, sometimes the oddest things fly out of your mouth? Your brain is totally by-passed? That’s what happened, the first words out of my mouth were “Oh, You’re kind!” “I was afraid of You.” He chuckled and told me that most people are too. I knew that if ANYONE got even one, fast glimpse of His face, they would fall instantly in love! It would be impossible not to, He was so incredible.

I was aware that my heart was exploding with love for Him, and I had a strong desire to give Him something special. I started looking around to see what was around me that I could give Him. I realized that not only was there nothing good I could present to Him, but to my horror the only thing I possessed was a sack of garbage in my hand. I felt bitterness and sadness wash over me, that was all I had. I had no gift to bring.

He immediately knew I was feeling this and told me, “Valerie, I LOVE garbage.” I was again stunned! “How could this be Lord?” He told me to remember the previous groups of 2 people I had met earlier, and said that He can take the garbage in our lives, and change it into something beautiful. That each component made a unique masterpiece, each life totally different, but all to His glory.

He then giggled, and His eyes lit up (yes, really) and acted almost like a child about ready to open a birthday present, and invited me to bring Him my sack of garbage, that we could go through each piece together, one by one, and I could tell Him the story of my garbage. I felt we had all the time in the world, there was no hurry, or people banging on the door wanting their turn with Him. It wasn’t like a Santa Claus line like I always had imagined, having to wait and wait to get a chance to be alone with God.

I then approached Him and together we looked into my garbage sack. The first item I pulled out was a rotten sock, it was dirty and had so many holes in it, it was barely recognizable as even being a sock. I told Him this one was my favorite. It represented my husband. He stretched out His hand, and I placed the sock in His hand and He said it was His favorite too.

The next in the bag was my wedding ring, it was broken and smashed. I told Him it was my marriage. I put the broken pieces of the ring in His hand.

The 3rd item I pulled out a heart (mine), it was bloody, mangled, bruised and broken. He knew it was my heart too, and he carefully took my heart into His hands and told me, “I’m really good at fixing those.”

The fourth item was a bitter root. I told Him that was my sin and I was sorry for my bitterness and that it was ugly. I placed that into His hand too, He thanked me for giving that to Him and smiled.

I thought at this point my bag was empty, when all of the sudden a horrific smell came out from the bag. I looked around inside, and found in a hidden corner at the bottom a dead, rotting and decaying mouse. I grabbed it by its tail and pulled it out and was looking for a garbage can because I didn’t want to put this foul thing in His hand. He didn’t give me a choice here and wisked it out of my hand and said, “I’ll take care of that one.” It represented the enemy’s evil plans and schemes that had caused great damage in my life.

NOW, my sack was empty, but I didn’t know quite what to do with it. I knew if I carried around an empty sack, I would probably want to put those things back in there. He sensed my thoughts and suggested giving Him even the sack so I wouldn’t be tempted to take those things back. I told Him yes please, and if I asked for my garbage back, to please tell me no.

I felt loved and free, He even LIKED me! He then told me it was time to go back and to watch Him make a masterpiece out of this. He did warn me that masterpieces take time to build.

Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal if you have garbage in your life. Ask Him what is in your garbage sack and what it represents. I would encourage you to place those things in His mighty hand, and watch Him make a masterpiece in YOUR life.

As an update footnote: This happened to me several years ago, the Lord did deal with my husband, my husband ended up finding the great love of God, He did heal my broken heart, and He has healed our marriage. Our divorce was cancelled, all glory goes to God! Day by day His grace helps us.

Adding to the Richness of Holy Week

Adding to the Richness of Holy Week
Review of Come to the Table: A Catholic Passover Seder for Holy Week by Meredith Gould
By Lisa M. Hendey

During this Year of the Eucharist, Catholics looking to more fully appreciate the sacrament while enriching their family or parish celebration of Holy Week should look to the wonderful new book Come to the Table: A Catholic Passover Seder for Holy Week (Plowshares Publishing, January 2005, paperback, 96 pages). Author Meredith Gould, Ph.D., writes from an educated perspective - describing herself as a “Jew by identity, a Christian by faith, and a Catholic in practice”. Gould’s additional books include The Catholic Home: Celebrations and Traditions for Holidays, Feast Days and Everyday (Doubleday), which carries the imprimatur of the Catholic Church. As an adult convert to Catholicism, she writes in a manner which will encourage Catholics to examine and embrace the richness of traditional Jewish rituals and symbolism surrounding the feast of Passover.

Having been raised in a Jewish home, Gould opens her book with reminiscences of family Passover celebrations. With many Jewish friends of my own, I have discussed the wonderful family gatherings of this holiday and the memories created through the act of coming together in faith and celebration. I am looking forward to sharing Meredith Gould’s Catholic Passover Seder with my own family and friends this year as a part of our Holy Week celebration.

As background information, Gould supplies a history of the rituals and symbols of the traditional Passover feast. An informative and touching section of the book entitled “Reconciliation and Teshuva” comments on the evolving relationship between Jews and Catholics, up to an including recent Papal acts and writings and current events such as reaction to Mel Gibson’s film The Passion of the Christ. Given this background, Gould recommends an emphasis on what we as Catholics share in common with our Jewish brethren. The Catholic Passover Seder does not draw entirely on the traditional Jewish Seder, but rather provides an alternative inspired by and structured upon the original format but based in Christianity.

The bulk of Come to the Table contains practical, step by step instructions for planning, preparing and conducting your own Catholic Passover Seder. Gould’s Seder may be used in either home, small group or parish settings. A complete appendix section provides additional prescriptions for carrying out a successful Seder in your parish.

I walked away from my experience of reading Come to the Table: A Catholic Passover Seder for Holy Week both educated and inspired: educated on the history, symbols and rituals which underpin this antecedent to our Holy Thursday Eucharistic traditions, and inspired to celebrate this new tradition in my own home and faith community.
