On How to Secure a Holiday Cottage in the Peak District

Situated handily between Sheffield and Manchester, the Peak District is an ideal getaway from the tensions and strains of metropolitan life. If you are from Sheffield or Manchester, it’s accessible in about an hour going by train or car and an excellent location for a one or two day break, or even longer. If you are driving from a place further away, we advise you stay 3 or 4 days since there’s a lot to get up to in the Peak District.

A lot of people connect the Peak area with the summertime, but it’s picturesque the entire year, and in no other area of the UK are the four seasons more emphasised than in the Peak District.

As brought up previously, there’s lots to get up to in the Peak District. The scenic scenes entice holiday makers out of their accommodation and onto long walks, and there’s lots of trails to tramp - as many as thirty well tramped walks.

In addition, there’s plenty of spots to try your luck at fishing in the Peak District, especially the Ladybower reservoir. Even if you’re not partial to such physical pasttimes, drive the car and check out Chatsworth House. A good half day is recommended, the gardens alone you can idle an hour or two in! Or go to Buxton for lunch and a stroll in the pavilion gardens, or the opera (yes, Buxton has its own Opera house). Finally the Castleton and Hathersage in the Hope Valley which are lovely .

So how to find accommodation in the Peak area? We strongly recommend renting a cottage in the Peak District. Holiday cottages are wonderful in that they ensure you have the privacy of your own space, and the chance to unwind with your friends and family in a comfy environment. The most effective way to find accommodation is to go online and search. Use a keyphrase like weekend breaks in the Peak District and one is sure to find a lot of possible accommodation options.
