I Changed over My Phone and Broadband to Virgin and Have Not Regreted after thatComments Off
I had been subscribing to BT for my phone and broadband over long period and had been satisfied with them until they introduced a £9 quarterly charge for not settling my bill via a direct debit. I realize its not a lot of money but it’s the principal I settle all of my bills through the post office as that is what I am most used to. I decided to bring my business to another provider who would not impose on me the way I should make my payment. After looking around I decided on Virgin for its value for money offer as well as a free on demand television service which I figured might be convenient. I was impressed with the installation to turn everything on and best of all it didn’t charge me anything. I was not so happy when I went to surf the internet however. When I was with BT web speed was at a decent 5mb which very much allowed me to surf the web without fuss since I seldom downloaded anything over the web. With Virgin I could barely reach to 2.5mb and I kept losing the internet connections. The internet connections turned so annoying that when this was fedback to Virgin they agreed an engineer would come on-site for FOC inspection. Conversely BT had made me poorer by £70 previously upfront without guaranteeing that pathetic 5 minutes job would get anything restored. The inspection was thoroughly done by the engineer. He switched the web and computer on and off 4 or 5 times until he was satisfied that the problem had been fixed and I have to say he was a very affable young chap not at all appalling to let into my property and for an elderly female it was such a relief that when he came to the doorstep he showed his id and acknowledged me my Virgin account number to check before he would enter the house, organizations these days do not dispense enough goodwill thinking about the elderly so I was very comfortable. Four months later and I have not had a single issue since the engineer fixed the line. My phone charges are virtually FOC and my t.v. Package is the best part I can watch old episodes of Murder She Wrote whenever there is nothing on terrestrial tv. Well there has got to be something that BT executives can pick up from Richard Branson!
